Morning Departure from Marrakech
Your day begins with a pick-up from your hotel or riad in Marrakech.
Most tours depart between 8:30 and 9:00 AM.
How the morning unfolds:
Leaving Marrakech, the scenery quickly changes. The busy streets give way to open landscapes, small villages, and mountain views. As you approach the Atlas Mountains, the air becomes fresher and the surroundings greener.
After about 1 to 1.5 hours, you reach the mountain region.

Arrival in the Atlas & Berber Villages

Once in the mountains, you begin exploring traditional Berber villages. What you will discover:
How the experience unfolds:
The pace here is slow and peaceful. You’ll walk through villages, observe local life, and enjoy incredible views over the valleys. This part of the trip offers a true glimpse into rural Morocco.

Optional Walking Experience
Many tours include an optional guided walk or short hike.
What it’s like:
You will walk along scenic paths through the valley, surrounded by mountains and nature. The walk is usually easy to moderate and suitable for most travelers.
Along the way, you may pass:

- local homes
- hidden viewpoints
Visit to a Berber Family Home
One of the highlights of the day is visiting a local Berber house.
What the experience is like:
You will be welcomed with traditional Moroccan mint tea and sometimes homemade bread or snacks. This is a unique opportunity to learn about local traditions, daily life, and hospitality.
It’s a simple but very authentic experience.
Lunch with a View
After the walk and village visit, you will have time to enjoy lunch.
Lunch is usually served in a local restaurant with views of the mountains or valley. Typical dishes include:

- mint tea
Afternoon Return to Marrakech
After lunch and some free time, the journey back to Marrakech begins.
How the return unfolds:
The drive back offers more scenic views of the mountains as the light changes in the afternoon. You will return to Marrakech in the late afternoon, usually around 5:30 – 6:30 PM.
Drop-off at your hotel or riad.
