OUARZAZATE TO MERZOUGA DESERT
Day 1
Ouarzazate – Skoura Oasis – Rose Valley – Dades Valley
Approx. driving time 2-3 hours
Your journey begins with a pick-up in Ouarzazate. We travel east through the Skoura palm oasis, known for its beautiful kasbahs hidden among palm trees and traditional villages.
Continuing along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, we pass through the scenic Rose Valley, famous for its rose fields and small Berber villages.
Today is a relaxed introduction to southern Morocco. The landscapes are filled with palm groves, kasbahs, and quiet villages where life moves slowly. Along the way we stop to enjoy panoramic views and take photos before reaching the impressive rock formations of the Dades Valley.
Overnight in a hotel or riad in Dades Valley.
Day 2
Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi dunes
Approx. driving time 4-5 hours
After breakfast we continue toward the dramatic Todra Gorge, one of the most impressive natural sites in Morocco. You’ll have time to walk through the canyon and admire the towering cliffs that rise more than 300 meters above the valley. Later we continue through desert towns such as Tinjdad and Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops. By the afternoon we arrive in Merzouga where the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi appear on the horizon. Here you will begin a camel trek across the dunes while the sun sets over the Sahara. The changing colors of the sand create an unforgettable atmosphere. At the desert camp you’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner followed by Berber music around the campfire under a sky filled with stars.

Day 3
Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate
Approx. driving time 5-6 hours
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, one of the most peaceful moments in the desert. After breakfast at the camp we return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 and begin the journey back toward Ouarzazate.
Today’s drive offers another chance to enjoy the vast landscapes of southern Morocco. We pass through desert towns and wide valleys before reaching the beautiful Draa Valley, famous for its endless palm groves and ancient kasbah villages. After several scenic stops along the way, we arrive in Ouarzazate in the evening.
