Yes, Morocco is one of the safest countries in North Africa for tourism.

Cities like Marrakech, Fez, Rabat, and the desert area of Merzouga welcome millions of travelers every year.

What you should know:

• There is a strong police presence in tourist areas.
• Violent crime is very low.
• The most common situations are persistent vendors or unofficial guides offering help.

My honest advice:

• Avoid isolated alleys at night in unfamiliar medinas.
• Do not accept help from strangers without agreeing on a price first.
• If you travel with me, I take care of everything so you can feel relaxed and safe.

Many women travel alone and have very positive experiences, but I always recommend dressing with cultural respect (explained below).

The currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD).

You can exchange money at:

✔ International airports (convenient on arrival, though rates may be slightly lower).
✔ Official banks in cities like Marrakech, Casablanca, or Fez.
✔ Authorized exchange offices (very common in tourist areas and medinas).

Real advice:
Bring some cash. In small villages and in the desert, card payment is not always available.
