ERRACHIDIA TO FES
Day 1
Errachidia – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi dunes
Approx. driving time 5-6 hours
We begin the journey with a pick-up in Errachidia and drive south through the spectacular Ziz Valley, one of the largest palm groves in Morocco. Along the way we stop at panoramic viewpoints overlooking thousands of date palms and traditional villages.
Continuing toward the desert, we pass through the town of Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops and desert gateway atmosphere. In the afternoon we arrive in Merzouga, where the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi rise dramatically from the landscape.
In the late afternoon you will ride a camel across the dunes while the sun sets over the sand. After reaching the camp, you’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars, followed by Berber music around the fire.
Overnight in a Sahara desert camp (standard or luxury).
Day 2
Merzouga sightseeing Full day tour
In the morning, wake up for a breathtaking sunrise over the beautiful dunes of Erg Chebbi then walk along the dunes. After breakfast at your luxury desert camp, embark on a tour of the towering dunes of Merzouga by 4×4 vehicle, your journey will cover exploration of the Merzouga region, including stops at Hassi Lbeid, Tanamoust, and Khamlia to immerse yourself in African music. Next, visit nomadic families behind the dunes of Merzouga, delving into their unique lifestyle and traditions while relishing in a taste of Berber pizza.
Following this enriching experience, explore national car museum in Tanamoust then continue your tour to Merzouga for lunch before visiting Hassi Lbeid oasis and admiring the panoramic vistas of Merzouga. Late afternoon, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation where you’ll spend the night.
Overnight in a hotel or riad near the dunes.
Day 3
Merzouga – Erfoud – Midelt – Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes
Approx. driving time 7 hours
After enjoying breakfast at your Camp in Merzouga, we continue your desert tour towards the city of Midelt. Our route takes us through Erfoud, known as the date capital and famous for its fossil treasures. We’ll take the opportunity to visit a museum in the city before continuing our journey to Fes. Along the way, we will stop to admire the breathtaking panorama overlooking the village of Aoufous, one of the largest oasis in the region. Our next stop is Errachidia, where we will break for lunch before continuing our drive to Midelt via the captivating pass of Tizi N’Talghamt, admiring the striking sceneries along the way. Making stop over the Atlas Mountains for photographing opportunities. Upon arrival in Midelt, often referred to as “The Apple Capital,” we’ll have the chance to eynlore the town.
After that, we will continue through the Cedar Forest of Azrou before reaching Ifrane,
known as “Morocco’s little Switzerland.” In the late afternoon, we will arrive in Fes drop you off at your
accommodation.
