After about 2.5 to 3 hours of driving, you arrive in the coastal town of Essaouira.

Arrival and Exploration of the Medina
Upon arrival, you will begin exploring the historic medina of Essaouira. The medina of Essaouira is much smaller and calmer than the medina of Marrakech, making it perfect for relaxed exploration. Walking through the streets you will notice the strong Portuguese influence in the architecture and the charming blue-and-white buildings that give the town its distinctive character.
- narrow streets filled with artisan shops
- local art galleries and handicrafts
- colorful markets and small cafés
- the famous city ramparts overlooking the ocean

Visit to the Fishing Port
One of the highlights of Essaouira is its lively fishing harbor. The harbor is a great place to observe local life and take photographs. Many small restaurants nearby allow visitors to choose fresh fish and seafood directly from the market before it is grilled on the spot.
What you will see:
- hundreds of blue fishing boats
- fishermen bringing in the daily catch
- traditional wooden boat workshops

Lunch and Free Time
After exploring the medina and harbor, you will have time to enjoy lunch and relax.
What to expect:
Essaouira is famous for its fresh seafood. Many restaurants near the port or inside the medina offer:
- grilled fish and seafood
- Moroccan tajines
- fresh salads
- mint tea with ocean views
After lunch, visitors can also:
- walk along the beach
- explore more shops in the medina
- relax at a seaside café.

Afternoon Return to Marrakech

The drive back follows the same scenic countryside route. As the sun begins to set over the Moroccan landscape, you will return to Marrakech in the early evening, usually around 6:30 or 7:00 PM.
