OUARZAZATE TO ERG CHIGAGA
Day 1
Ouarzazate – Agdz – Draa Valley – Zagora
Approx. driving time 2-3 hours
Your journey begins with a pick-up in Ouarzazate. We drive south through the Anti-Atlas Mountains to reach the oasis town of Agdz, located at the entrance of the famous Draa Valley. From here the road follows the Draa River through one of the most beautiful palm valleys in Morocco. Along the way you will see traditional mud-brick villages, ancient kasbahs, and endless palm groves. We stop at panoramic viewpoints and small villages before arriving in Zagora in the afternoon, where you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this desert town.
Overnight in a hotel or riad in Zagora.
Day 2
Zagora – M’Hamid – Sahara desert tracks – Erg Chigaga dunes
Approx. driving time 3 hours
After breakfast we continue toward the village of M’Hamid, the last town before the vast Sahara Desert begins. Beyond M’Hamid the road disappears and the adventure begins. We travel by 4×4 across desert tracks, passing wide open landscapes, dry riverbeds, and small desert oases. Eventually the massive dunes of Erg Chigaga appear on the horizon. In the late afternoon you will enjoy a camel trek across the dunes while the sun sets over the Sahara. The colors of the sand change beautifully as the light fades.
At the desert camp you will enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner followed by Berber music around the campfire under a sky filled with stars.

Day 3
Erg Chigaga – Lake Iriki – Foum Zguid – Ouarzazate
Approx. driving time 5-6 hours
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, one of the most peaceful moments in the desert. After breakfast at the camp we begin the return journey across the desert toward the dried salt lake of Iriki.
Today’s journey is a true desert adventure. We travel by 4×4 across vast open landscapes and the dry plains of Lake Iriki before reaching the small desert town of Foum Zguid. From here we return to Ouarzazate through beautiful desert scenery and mountain landscapes, arriving in the afternoon.
