SAHARA DESERT TOUR WITH DADES VALLEY
Day 1
Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley
Approx. driving time 6 hours
Your journey begins with an early departure from Marrakech as we cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka pass.
How the day unfolds:
The drive offers breathtaking views of mountain landscapes and traditional Berber villages. We stop to visit the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its impressive mud-brick architecture and film locations. After visiting Ouarzazate we continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs before arriving in the beautiful Dades Valley.
Overnight in Dades Valley.
Day 2
Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga
Approx. driving time 4-5 hours
After breakfast we continue toward the impressive Todra Gorge.
How the day unfolds:
You will have time to walk through the canyon and admire the towering cliffs rising dramatically above the valley. Later we travel through desert towns and palm-filled oasis landscapes until the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi appear on the horizon. In the afternoon you will ride camels across the dunes while the sun sets over the Sahara Desert. The evening includes a traditional Moroccan dinner and Berber music at the desert camp.
Overnight in a Sahara desert camp.
Day 3
Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate
Approx. driving time 5-6 hours
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes.
How the day unfolds:
After breakfast at the camp we return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 and begin the journey back through the vast desert landscapes. We visit the traditional town of Rissani before continuing through the beautiful Draa Valley, known for its endless palm groves and ancient kasbah villages.
Overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 4
Ouarzazate – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
Approx. driving time 3-4 hours
After breakfast we begin the journey back to Marrakech.
How the day unfolds:
The route crosses the High Atlas Mountains once again, offering spectacular panoramic views and several scenic stops along the way. We pass through traditional mountain villages before descending toward Marrakech, where the tour ends in the afternoon.
